Abstract
This paper discusses the current state of the art of knowledge sharing research, and central premises and implications of effective knowledge sharing in organizations. The aim of the paper is to propose a framework for studying knowledge sharing from multiple perspectives. A review of previous research shows that as well individual, social, organizational as societal factors influence knowledge sharing processes. It is concluded that integrated inter-disciplinary research efforts are s needed in order to move the field forward.
