ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Isto Huvila is Professor in Information Studies at Uppsala University, Sweden, and Adjunct Professor in Information Management at Information Studies, Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland.

Angeliki Chryssanthi is Associate Researcher in the Digital Humanities Research Centre, University of Chester.

Elton Barker is Reader in Classical Studies at The Open University, UK, and Community Director of Pelagios Commons.

ABOUT THE MODERATOR

Aggeliki Sgora is Adjunct Lecturer at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Western Macedonia, Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Peiraeus, and Special Consultant at the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Policy.

Information Services and Digital Literacy provides an alternative perspective for understanding information services and digital literacy, and argues that a central problem in the age of the social web and the culture of participation is that we do not know the premises of how we know, and how ways of interacting with information affect our actions and their outcomes.
